I understand that my service pricing is higher than other salons. I have been asked similar questions over and over, and I would like to explain why I charge what I charge. My average service time is one hour. Any popular nail services like gel polish and enhancement takes about 1.5 hour to 3 hours depending on what I am working on and who I am working on. What you don't see on my service menu or my appointment schedule is my clean up time and prep time. My average clean up time after a client takes about solid 20 minutes. I am strictly following the disinfection steps recommended by EPA and the board of cosmetology, and I use EPA registered hospital grade disinfectant. I dust, wipe and clean all surfaces of my service area after each client before and after disinfection because I care the quality of service doesn't end at giving you a beautiful set of nails. I do not skip a step because I genuinely care about your well-being and health.

You might notice that I do not have a lot of add-on services other than nail art. Even my nail art service pricing is pretty low and it's rounded up so you do not have to pay a dollar each for a crystal or decal. Most my services are 'customized' not copy-and-paste type services you get in some other salons. I take my time to consult with my clients to give them the best result with healthiest options available for their lifestyle. I often take solid 30 minutes to clean up your cuticle area and prep your nails in a safest way possible that I can come up with. Have you ever had a nail salon experience where you addressed a specific need to your nail tech, and got charged extra for your request or even got ignored or got rude attitude? A lot of my clients have expressed how their past nail salon experiences were so much different than what they get from me. Because I see and understand that every clients' need and goal are different, and it is impossible to create a menu with so many different add-on services.

Sugarplumfairyfingers is my brand and my career. Yes, making living is my goal like everyone else, but I chose this career because I genuinely love what I do. I am highly educated and well-trained at what I do, and I do it very well. I am creative with a right set of skill, but I don't focus on promoting my nail art skill, because nail art isn't the most important part of your nail service. Honestly, my career goal isn't really making a bank. My career goal is to help raise the industry standard higher so any one of you can get safe and quality services from well trained nail techs working at a safe salon environment anywhere around the world. So I thank you for being a part of my career goal and I appreciate your time and money. If you have any questions or concerns regarding my services, or even any general questions about nails, feel free to contact me.
